Every fall, Texas Hearing Institute’s Melinda Webb School joins families and advocates nationwide for the Hearing Loss Association of America’s Walk4Hearing—a celebration of community, awareness, and hope for everyone affected by hearing loss.
This year, the Houston Walk4Hearing takes place on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Town Green Park (2099 Lake Robbins Dr., The Woodlands, TX). Registration begins at 8:00 a.m., and the walk starts at 9:15 a.m.
As an official partner of the event, Texas Hearing Institute receives 40% of the funds raised under our team, which directly support the Melinda Webb School. These funds provide classroom supplies, student activities, and enrichment opportunities that make a difference all year long. Last year, we raised nearly $10,000, and this year, we’re aiming even higher!
Why We Walk
Hearing loss affects one in seven Americans—and that number is growing. Around the world, more than one billion young people are at risk for noise-induced hearing loss, and by 2050, the number of people affected is expected to double.
Walk4Hearing brings families, friends, and professionals together to raise awareness about hearing health and expand access to life-changing care. By joining our team, you’ll help ensure children and families of all backgrounds have access to the services and support they need to thrive.
How to Join the Team
Becoming part of our Walk4Hearing team is simple:
- Go to Texas Hearing Institute’s Team Page.
- Select “Join Our Team” (each participant—child or adult—must register as a walker).
- When prompted to select a nonprofit, choose “Texas Hearing Institute.”
- Personalize your fundraising page to share your story with family and friends.
- Encourage your loved ones to register or donate—every step makes a difference!

What to Expect at the Walk
Walk4Hearing is more than a fundraiser, it’s a celebration of community and empowerment. Participants can enjoy family activities, vendor booths, refreshments, and opportunities to connect with other Melinda Webb School families, alumni, and advocates.
The walk covers 5K (3.1 miles), so wear comfortable shoes, bring your hat, sunscreen, and water, and prepare to celebrate every step of the way.
