Isabel Turned Running Into a Force for Good
Isabel’s son, Giovanni, was diagnosed with hearing loss as a toddler and received support through Texas Hearing Institute’s audiology, speech therapy, and early education programs.
Today, Giovanni is thriving, and his family’s experience inspired Isabel to give back to the community that supported them.
She decided to lace up her running shoes and take on 26.2 miles in support of Texas Hearing Institute.
Family members, friends, neighbors, and teammates rallied behind her effort. By race day, Isabel’s marathon fundraiser had exceeded her $2,000 goal.

James Gonzalez Turned His Passion for Reading Into Opportunity

University of Houston Delta Zeta Makes Philanthropy a Tradition

The University of Houston’s Delta Zeta chapter hosts two philanthropy weeks each year. The chapter typically raises between $10,000 and $13,000 per semester, with proceeds benefiting philanthropic partners including Texas Hearing Institute.
Its signature event, the Gong Show, has become a major philanthropic tradition at the University of Houston. The event consistently fills a 400-seat theater and brings students and community members together around Delta Zeta’s commitment to service.
In 2026, the chapter will celebrate the Gong Show’s 40th anniversary.

Jessica and her husband created the Jack Jack Foundation after being inspired by their son, a Texas Hearing Institute patient.
The foundation supports children with hearing loss, particularly children affected by congenital cytomegalovirus, or CMV, by advocating for early intervention, access to hearing technology, and inclusive education.
The family’s connection to the hearing loss community also inspired Jack Jack’s Spooky Pumpkin Patch Market & Field Day, a family-friendly community event featuring market vendors, crafts, food trucks, and field-day activities benefiting Texas Hearing Institute.
